I apologize in advance if I am asking a question that has already been answered but I couldn't find it anywhere.

I am using a Netgear 108 Mbps Wireless Firewall Route (model: WGT624) that is 802.11g. I need to use a range extender with this and I have a Belkin Wireless Range Extender/Access Point (model: F5D7130) that is 54g that I am trying to use with it. The router works fine but I cannot get the extender to work with the router.

    Several questions:
    1. Is it possible to use a router and a range extender that are different brands?
    2. If it is possible, how do I get them to "talk" to each other?

Currently I am showing the extender with excellent signal strength but limited to no connectivity.

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.
