    hi folks.
please help me I really need it. yesterday I noticed that my home page had changed to something called " XZOOMY ". and I don't know how to get rid of it. It replaced my broadbandrogers.com and I can't even find that. Initiced that there is an article on this thing in an earlier posting but I am not computer literate, so I need step by step help. Thanking you in advance.

    Please do this:

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#det , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please show us its contents.

I'm very new to computers so maybe I'm doing something wrong.could you tell me another way to get the list to you ?

Pat, when you say the list is transferred to a file in My Documents, is it named HijackThis.log ?

If so, just right click on it and chage the name to HijackThis.txt

If you can't open it, just upload it here as an attachment. You should be able to open as you would any text file.

By the way, what Windows version do you have? We might want to have you restore a previous registry if we get stuck here.

    I'd do this:

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy

It looks for spyware, but also targets dialers, keyloggers, and other nasties, and it's freeware.
It ought to deal with FSW without a prob.

After installing, press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.

Next, go to Settings > File Sets, and uncheck 'System Internals' and 'Tracks' .
These aren't needed for our present purpose, and you can always experiment with them later on.

Finally, after closing down Internet Explorer, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds.
