Have downloaded several films in rar-format and have been able to burn
them onto a DVD without problems. My last two attempts didn't work and
    I can't work out why.
After decompressing the rar-files I end up with a VIDEO_TS file,
video_01_0...video_03_4 files, same files with BUP extensions and the
    same again with IFO extensions.
One of the films work on my DVD player on my PC if I just stick it in
the drive and let it self start, the other one doesn't start at all.
None of the films work in an 'ordinary' DVD player.
Any suggestions? Corrupt files? Wrong format on the files? Burning
    software failing somewhere?
What files should I look for, ie what files are definitely needed to get playable DVD_

    Cheers Ollie

Where exactly did you download the films from?

The films were bittorrent files from a site I've used many times before. I've had no similar problems before these two.

That's what I figured. I suggest you visit TSG Rules and read about illegal activities. We don't help with pirate DVD copies or P2P issues.
