On fresh installs of Windows XP or 2000 Pro, I get errors installing system works and office 2003.

    technet has been no help.

    Norton System Works
    Office 3003

here are the errors for system works.

"Error 1335. The cabinet file 'data.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package"

i get it 3 different times during the installation 'data.cab','cabs.m6', and 'nsw1.cab'

for office 2003 i recently recieved the error code: "Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 -- Error 2235. An internal error has occurred. ( VersionMin SELECT `UpgradeCode`,`VersionMin`,`VersionMax`,`Language`,`Attributes`,`ActionProperty` FROM `Upgrade` ) "

This is a newly built system.

    Syntax SV400 motheboard /sempron 2600 processor
    256MB PC2700 DDR333 Centon memory
Windows 2000 Pro SP4 with all current updates.

I'm at a loss fellas. I had the same problems with Windows XP
