hi, i am checking out a problem for a relative who has a problem with her winME pc. she installed a game for her son which seemed to be ok but they couldn't get the game to start.

as she has the bare minimum specs i tried downloading an updated driver for her graphics card. when i try to install the driver it goes ok and get a message saying it was installed ok but then the install wizard freezes and i get the message "remote call procedure failed". tried to uninstall game and got message saying game uninstalled ok but game is still there. when i tried to install the game over the original again got message saying game installed ok but then the install wizard freezes.

i thought maybe it was a problem with the registry so restored it to the earliest date but still the problem persists.

    any help would be appreciated.

    Hiya

What is the name of the game? Also, for the video card, which one is it, and the driver version that it is cuurently.

For that, go to Device manager, via Control Panel. Under Display, rightclick the Vido card, choose Properties, then Driver tab.

Also, can we see what they are running:

Go to Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste the list here.

    Regards
