Hi nottosavy,
Check your dial numbers. Make sure the area code is not there if it is local.
Do you hear the modem dialing??
What is the meesage, if any, does aol give for not connecting??

i hear the dial tone, i hear the touchtone but then i hear dial tone again. another thing it seems like my laptop is acting like a phone that is off the hook, for example if the phoneline is plugged in the laptop but i am not on line and the computer is off , if i go to the other phone line where phone is connected and pick up the reciever i will not hear a dial tone
