problems with DVD drive

    I have a dell lat. C600 laptop running windows 2000NT and for some reason now when I go to watch the dvd it says that there is no dvd detected can anyone help on this subject the software I am running is Cyberlink Power DVD and there is no updates for my version . Thanks

    Have you tried different DVD disk

    And what says
    windows or Power DVD?

    Sure have tried several and it just says no dvd in drive .

    Can you actually go into the DvD drive ? My Computer - Right click dvd drive - open.

    I had the same problem on an acer laptop i owned a while back and uninstalling the drive completely, rebooting, then reinstalling it solved the problem for me.
