    emule.exe
    msnmsgr.exe
    any and all Symantec entries

    Thanks

It sounds like your over working your computer.
Since your Emule is allways on, your uploading and downloading or both. This process (Just with Emule) is using SO MUCH cpu usage that the system has a hard time doing anything else, such as other programs. If you try to burn a cd, I would suggest turning all other progams off (Inculding Emule) and then brurn the CD. No Winamp or anything else.

Exactly what are the specs on your computer (Cpu, Ram, ect.)
