I have recently had trouble accessing e-bays secure site 'My e-bay' and was just getting jumbled letters.

I received the following advice after e-mailing e-bay:

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to write and let us know that you are
having problems accessing some parts of the UK site. We are working to
resolve this as quickly as possible.

We have found for NTL users making a slight change on your proxy
settings should resolve the issue for you. You can do this by following
the instructions that I have included below:

1) Go to the Control Panel Select Start then settings then Control Panel
2) Then select Internet Settings
3) Then select LAN Settings
4) Un-tick 'Auto Detect Settings'
5) Tick 'Use Proxy Server'
Address 80.1.224.4
Port 8080
6) Click 'OK'

Having done this I was able to access 'My e-bay' but for some reason my internet slowed to an almost standstill (I have a 2mb connection)

I changed the LAN settings back to the default settings and this solved the internet speed issue, but once again I was unable to access e-bay.

Is there a solution to this. I have had no problems with e-bay in the past.

I am running XP with SP2

Thanks

You have been scammed from the looks of things. That sure doesn't look like anything I'd do from an emai! This doesn't look like an eBay account.
