I am having a problem with my Sidewinder 2 using a USB port. When I first turn my computer on, the computer cannot see the joystick. If I unplug and then reconnect the joystick, Windows XP (Home Edition) will see it and it will be functional. Everything is OK until I turn the computer off. When it is booted back up again, the joystick will have to be unplugged and reconnected again to make it work. It has to be disconnected and reconnected each time after reboot to make it functional. Can't find drivers for the joystick at Microsoft, so i assume they are built into Windows XP. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Try this:

To install your controller in XP: Plug it in, click Start / Control Panel /
Switch to Classic view if you haven't already / click Game Controllers
Click Add... / Select Microsoft Sidewinder Auto Detect / OK / OK.
