Ok, as we all know the Sims is a very addicting game that you can hardly take your eyes off of. But I havent been able to play my Sims game because it wont finish the download.... I have the Sims deluexe(and many others) and when I put it in to download, it slows down on 24 then it continues up to 95. Then it will stop. A box will come up that says "Computer Transfer Error".....Then it goes back to my desktop. My CD is scratched so that might be the problem but if anyone would have any clue as to what the problem is, please let me know. Thanks

So, you didn't buy the game, you downloaded it? Your first copy is scratched, and you are trying to download it again?

    Is that right?

If that's it, you may want to edit or delete this post.. You may have forgotten to read the TSG rules...

Just a warning, because if a moderator reads this it may be closed and your account disabled for a time.. (24 hours I think)..

TSG can't help with games you didn't buy.. Or with downloads that can be seen as illegal.

OK, I didn't mean to jump on ya.. It's just the way it's worded I guess..

What are you trying to download? the game? or stuff for the game?

Is it installed? or because of the scratches, won't install?

Just need some clarification is all

I'm trying to download the game onto my computer.(the sims deluxe) but a computer transfer error pops up........It used to be installed....I have the Sims superstar one also and whenever I wanted to play the Sims I would have to put that one in the cd rom to play. One day my moms kid that she watches decided to hide the cd. So I thought I would try to remove everything I have of sims on the computer and then try to redownload the sims deluxe but it wont work...... ( the sims deluxe cd is all scratched up) That might be the problem.

Sorry I dont make myself clear.:)

OK, we can't help with downloading the game. Even if you have an original it's still illegal..

If the disc is so scratched it won't allow it to load, you could try a no-cd patch.. (So long as the games are still installed)
Unfortunatly I can't tell you where to get one. At least not on the open forum.

    To download a copyrighted game..
I guess some places make you pay for it then download.. but those can be iffy.

Send us the link to the site your trying to download and we can see..

Like with nintendo and ROMs.. All are illegal even if you own the original..
It a huge "grey" area that is often avoided..
Many discussions have taken place here at TSG.

    Here's a little something.

Right, you said you bought it, but it's scratched right?
And since it's scratched your trying to download it, so you'll have a good one again.. right?

To download any copyrighted game for free is illegal.. That simple.

There could still be a misunderstanding, but reading the replies that is what it sounds like.

What, thats it?.. We won't help with an illegal download and your gone?..

Show it's legal and we'll help..

Sorry to hear it.. You can try and fix your disc.. that will be much safer.
