I have a Dell Latitude E6430; recently got ERROR CODE 2000-0511 Validation 116855 (Processor Fan Failed); the computer lets me still operate by pushing F1 Key; online, I see these fans for as low as $10, although one repair shop wanted to charge me $50 for the fan alone!!! As an AARP member (I live in metro Atlanta area), I was trying to locate a reasonable repair tech....Thx

If you can find someone to replace it for $50 (USD), that's actually a pretty good deal. It's a tedious and time-intensive task to disassemble a laptop, replace the fan assembly, then reassemble and test.

You could replace the fan yourself, it's not too difficult for that laptop, as shown in this video :-

As a maintainer of Dell laptops, including the E6400s, I can confirm that the heatsink and fan is not that hard to do.

Here is the manual for the machine for reference: Latitude E6430 Service Manual

As mentioned in the video, you should replace and add new thermal compound.
