Processor swap

    Hi, just curious but is it possible to take my celeron processor from my dell laptop and stick it in my desk top computer that employs a 800Mhz P3 processor?:rolleyes:

    Not enough info. What types are the processors. What speed are both.

    Frankly, I can't imagine any Celeron processor that would fit and run that would out-perform any Pentium. Offer me a Pentium 2-Gigahertz or a Celeron 3-Gigahertz and I don't even have to think about it. Give me the Pentium.

    By the way, the laptop processor is probably soldered in.
