i just bought a Compaq V2410US. It's Turion 64 processor is supposed to run at 1.6ghz. But i checked it when i'm using it and it says its running at 799mhz. I think i saw it said something about running slower to conserve battery. How can i un-underclock this laptop!? Thanks!

As far as I know (IBM's do this) to conserve power consumption, the processor will actually be scaled back automatically when there isnt alot going on.. Once you start running things, then it will kick it back up. Ive had a 1.9Ghz P4 say 799, 999, 1.2...

As far as the settings for this, I believe they are in BIOS... but Im unable to look and check for sure (Im at work)
