Greetings
I am running XP Pro. I installed the Palm Desktop and the Hot-Synch programs that I've used for years. I installed them under my ID that has Admin privs.
I have several other users in the system but when one of them signs on they get a message saying that Hot-Synch was not installed properly.
The icon appears in the System tray briefly but goes away when the error message is cleared.
The Desktop and Hot-Synch work fine under my ID.
General question: What are the default access rules for programs installed by one user for other users on the system?
The other users in this case are all 'Restricted Users' as I want to control what gets installed. My ID has Admin privs and I use it for all installs.
Why would the Hot-Synch program work for me under my ID and not for the other one?
Thanks much for the feedback.
