Hi, i am using windows 7. my programs were working fine for a while and now all the sudden none of them can connect to the internet, except firefox. I checked to be sure they were allowed through my firewall, and they are, i even disabled my firewall and it still didnt work. any suggestions?

If these programmes are your anti-virus and other malware trackers, they might have been blocked by a piece of malware that's stopping them from blocking it. Please post back which programmes are involved - if they include the above, you might need to post into the HJT and Malware Board.

There should be a firewall settings page somewhere. If in doubt, turn it off for no longer than it takes to experiment - it usually offers the chance to put it back automatically after fifteen minutes.
