I just reinstalled my OS wich is win ME. In my start window I have all my files but program files and I liked having them there. How do I fix this little oversight?

I've seen numerous posts for this type of problem, but no confirmed "fixes"

Here is one area to check out, the registry:

Open the registry editor (run regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

In the right pane, look for an entry named "Programs" and unless you have moved the start menu, it should have a value of:

C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs

Also look in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

(Any chance different user profiles are installed which could cause a problem?)

I have the progams folder there but not the program files folder. The one that expands to show all programs that have been downloaded so forth and so on.

Yeah, there is no showing for Program Files in those keys. I don't know how that is handled in the registry, or if it is

Ok well just so you know. I made a shortcut and then cut it and moved it the start menu. Seems to be running fine it just won't expand. I use WIN ME. And it was standard before if find a better solution, like getting it to expand I will let you know. Keep in touch.
