More than half the programs I attempt to install on my computer (Windows XP Pro sp2, all updates installed) fail. For example, Quick Time gets up to putting the icon on the desktop and task bar, and suddenly deletes it and tells me the wizard has been interupted before it could completely install. Doom 3 suddenly exits most of the way. ATI UCI install goes most of the way, and suddenly exits. Installing the multemedia center warns me that the UCI is not installed and some programs may not work, installs anyway, and at the end gives a few errors about reg files that are in the temp folder. All hell is breaking loose.

Anyone ever hear of something like this happeneing?
