Hi Tonya87, Welcome to TSG !!
Can you tell us what the program is?
What operating system are you running?
What is the exact message or as close as possible??

Sounds like you're getting to your desktop, can you provide the info that tw56 asked you for, then we can try to find the answer.

Please go to this link and download EXEfix08.com
Copy it to floppy disk. Start the computer, put the floppy in the drive, go to My Computer and double click on the EXEfix08.com after you get into windows. It will repair the Exe file association for you .

    http://home.earthlink.net/~rmbox/Reticulated/Only_IE.html

After that please do a full Virus scan as a start.

    Here's free online scan:
    http://housecall.antivirus.com/pc_housecall/

And then Downlaod and run Spybot Search and Destroy to clean up any Spyware you may have lurking on the hard drive.

Here's link to that program. The page has directions and the link is at the bottom of the page:
    http://tomcoyote.com/SPYBOT/

Also, after you have done these two things, please download and run StartupList. Copy and paste the results into a post here. It will list all programs which start when you start Windows.
