I have a program on my computer thatsomeone installed without my knowlege. It is caled "Dash bar". I have tried EVERYTHING in my power to remove it but to no avail.I have contacted dash bar customer support and followed their instructions. I have tried the "add/remove" programs through the control panel. NOTHING works. Please help me.Any possible help would be greatly appreciated as this program is truly very annoying. By the way....I run internet explorer and windows 98. Thanks for the help.

What exactly does this program do?

You could go to Start/run, and type Msconfig.
On the 'Startup' tab, can you uncheck Dash Bar?

Click OK, reboot, and try to remove the program then.
For I understand it has an entry in Software Add-Remove?
By the way, if you try to remove it there, what exactly happens?

In your PM you told me me: 'When I try to go to add/remove and click on remove.....it doesnt do anything. Just greys out the button and the program is still there.'

Have you been able to pinpoint and uncheck it in Msconfig/startup?

I think I had Dashbar snuck into my PC too, just look for a folder that doesn't sound like you made it and delete it (If I remember right, its just called 'Dash') Least thats what I did :)

I don't think that would be wise.
You might delete something you'd really regret later.

On the other hand, it would give us something to do here at Tech Support Guy Forums... :D

Cause problems by deleting folders? No, never....
