A game I just installed will not start up. WHen I try to start it I get the message " 'Direct Sound Error' Turnoff Midi App to run DSound" there are no other programs running. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. My computer meets all the requirements. I am using DirectX 8.

    Hiya and welcome

    What is your sound card?

Control panel | System. Device Manager. Under Sound will be the name of your card.

Also, have you tried running the DXDIAG via Run and tried the test? Plus, have you got any other games that you use DirectX? Whats the name of the game and whats your OS?

    Regards

    Hiya

That is onboard, but was there any numbers in there as well? Thats just a standard chip name. Also, you say you've run the test. Did it work? And the other DirectX games: are they all working? What is the name of the this game?

    Regards
