Okay so I've had this problem for about a year, every once in awhile I try to solve it but never can.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.

Here are all the problems I know about.
Windows Firewall: When I attempt to run it it says "Windows Firewall can't change some of your settings. Error Code 0x8007042c"
When I try to open it from the Services menu it says "Windows could not start the Windows Firewall service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start."

Event Viewer: MMC could not create the snap-in. CLSID: FX:{b05566ad-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb51

    Programs Stop working
: So, the problem here is that everytime I open game maker HTML5, game maker studio, game maker 8.1 and the installation of the program from getpaint.net, and some other programs that I uninstalled awhile ago. I get some form of "has stopped working" error. Generally it's due to an updater has stopped working.

When I run a game with Game maker studio I get this error. "GMAssetCompiler has stopped working."
When I open 3ds max 2012 I get this "3ds Max has detected that the required .NET framework version is not properly installed." However, I do not get that error from 3ds max 2013 and it runs fine. I have tried to reinstall .NET framework 10-15 times.

When I use SFC /scannow it says "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

I have googled these errors quite abit however, nothing seems to help.

Tell me if you need any specific info--Thanks in advance!

For the Windows Firewall, try THIS.

Save the .reg file to your desktop. Double-click it to merge it to the registry.

    Restart the computer.

If the fix only opens as a text file (in Notepad), right-click the file (before opening it) and select Open With > Choose Program... Then, select the Registry Editor.

If the Registry Editor is not in the list, browse to C:\WINDOWS and select regedit.

For the Event Viewer, do the same with THIS.

For the Windows Firewall I still have the error after running the program and restarting.

For the event viewer It didn't successfully change the registry however.
"Cannot import Windows_Event_Log.reg: Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes." Any idea which process I should end?

    Start > search
    type: msconfig.exe
left click it in the results area
    Go to the 'services"
Left click "manufacturer". This will sort the entries by manufacturer
    Create screen shots.
You will likely need to scroll through the list & create multiple screen shots.

start > control panel > upper right, set view to "large icons'
    Open Admin tools > services
Create & post screen shots, please.

On your keyboard, look for a key labeled "print screen" OR "PrtSc" OR "PRN SCN" or some variation.
When you want to capture that which is displayed, press the print screen button.
Open Paint [ start > programs / all programs > accessories > paint [ rarely MS Paint]
    Maximize Paint
    left click "edit"
    Left click "paste"
    file > save as.
Save the file to any location of your choice.
File name: your choice, for example: "filename"
save as type: left click down pointing arrow. Left click jpg / jpeg
    Left click "save" / "ok".

The file name has now been saved as filename.jpg [ or filename.jpeg ].

    Return to the thread.
    Left click "go advanced".

    Left click "manage attachments"
    left click "browse"
browse to the location, on your computer, where you saved "filename.jpg"
    Left click filename.jpg
    left click "open"
    left click Upload"
close window of upload screen after the file has been uploaded.

enter text into the reply area.
    left click "submit"

If there is information on the screen that you don't want to display, you can use the eraser [ looks like a bar of soap, left column, 2nd from the top. You can remove large areas by clicking on the dotted outline column button, top, right column, then drag your mouse while holding down left mouse button ] to surround that which you don't want displayed. Then, press "delete" on your keyboard. Then save.
