I was wondering how I get to this list - I have several programs that are always running in the background and I don't need them to be.

Thanks!

Here is my list {I haven't downloaded the hijack this software (does that find other things??)}

scan registry
task monitor
pc health
system tray
load power profile
nav defalert
norton auto protect
disc detector
creative launcher
audio hq
ctav tray
hpaio - print folder manager
adaptec direct cd
create cd
load power profile
scheduling agent
*statemgr
ms office startup
hpaio device
hewlett packard recorder
winzip quick pick

I know there are some here that I don't need to be there (winzip, creative launcher, create cd, office start up) but I don't know what a lot of the others are.

Thanks!! :)

Yes, Hijackthis shows a lot more items.

Of hand I would disable these:
create cd
ms office startup
winzip quick pick

And some of the Creative Junk like:
disc detector
creative launcher
audio hq
ctav tray

And maybe some of the HP software:
hpaio - print folder manager
hpaio device
hewlett packard recorder
