Projector isn't working with PowerPoint

I recently tried to use my sony vaio laptop to connect to a InFocus LP640 projector to display a PowerPoint presentation and ran into an issue.

I am running Windows XPsp2 with Office 2003. When I connect the laptop to the projector it works for a few slides and then automatically reboots the laptop. It will then again work for a few slides and then reboot the laptop. When I ran the PowerPoint presentation without the projector it worked without issue.

Is this a powerpoint issue, a vaio issue or a projector issue? I don't have the projector with me now but will have to use it again to present in the future and so would like to resolve the issue.

Welcome to the forum. Did you try the projector hooked to another pc and see if it did the same thing?
