Am I correct in assuming the ISO download is better because I have a complete version standing by in case of a complete failure of the system? Also are there any recommendations to follow if I use the ISO version? My computer is apparently all OK for win 10 and I assume I would use the home version for private operations.
It's my understanding that you don't need a key, you have to do the Upgrade first and M$ store a unique hardware ID to recognise that particular computer. Later you can do a clean install on the same computer and M$ will activate it because it corresponds with the ID they have. If asked for a product key you can click on 'skip' and the install will continue.
If you have Win 7 Pro or Ultimate or Win 8 Pro then you can download Win 10 Pro. Otherwise you should download the 'home' version.
The ISO is good to have if your computer fails and you need to re-install. You'll never know.
