First of all thanks for taking the time to read this.

My IBM Thinkpad 310ed has mysteriously decided to make the mouse not work. Not only does the ps/2 mouseport not work but neither does the trackpoint mouse. The system has windows 98se. I have a hunch that its a resource conflict but the things i have tried have been to no avail.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Go to Control panel, click System, and open the Device Manager Tab. (Be sure that 'view devices by type' is checked). Click on the + sign next to the Mouse icon, and one or more devices will be listed. Right click each one and select properties. If any of them indicate a problem (a yellow triangle) select 'remove', then restart your machine. The restart will detect the missing driver and will install a fresh copy (you may need whatever disk came with your mouse).
