I am using WinXP Professional and MS outlook 2003. Before re-image I have successfully burn all my data on DVD including my PST files. After successfully re-imaging the machine when I copy my PST on local disk and try to add the PST it gives error “D:\***\**.pst is not a personal folder file”

    Then I took following actions

    1) From C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033 I run SCANPST.EXE and face error message “the inbox repair tool does not recognize the file D:\***\**.pst. No information can be recovered.”
    2) Verified the pst is not write-protected
    3) Used recovery software named “Recover My eMail v4.21” failed L
    4) Used recovery software named “Advance Outlook Repair v1.1” failed L

Please advice how to recover my pst

Copy the PST to the hard drive, and then open it. You can't open it directly from the CD.
