I have a dilemma in deciding which cpu and setup please hlep me:

AMD Athlon 64 3000 90 nm
Asus A8V Mobo
ThermalTake A1838 Heatsink with G675 Shin Etsu Grease
= $318 USD
I will overclock to about 2.2 GHZ, is that good considering that heatsink?

AMD Athlon 64 3500 130 nm
Asus A8V Mobo
ThermalTake A1838 Heatsink with G675 Shin Etsu Grease
= $414 USD A little too much
Again will that heatsink do the job?

AMD Athlon 64 3500 130 nm retail
Asus A8V Mobo
= $393 USD A little too much
Again will that heatsink do the job?

AMD Athlon 64 3500 130 nm retail
Asus A8V Mobo
= $299 USD With Rebate, no installation, no heatsink, so about 60 or 70 dollars and no HL2 (n)

Will be putting 512 of corsair in thier for now, will updrade to dual channel

I will use the sytem for mid gaming, HL2, countrerstrike source, far cry, a lot of applications and multi tasking and dvd encoding. Not editing.

Also The bundle is pre configured so i dont have to pay a fee for building it my self and it comes with HL2 and far cry...at monarchcomputers.com

Should i go intel?

Thanks

I'd go with the Socket 939 3000+ (that's the first one in your list), I've read that it overclocks to 2.6GHz or so.

you should be able to do all the stuff you want overclocked at 2.2ghz.

and i agree 2.2ghz may be fair for overclocking but if you can overclock it more why not!!
