Recently, I've been having some problems with my computer, on which I am currently running Windows XP Porfessional, that haven't ever occurred in the past. I just recently downloaded MS Anti-Spyware Beta from MS.com (January 17th, to be exact), and things were running smoothly ever since until a couple of nights ago. I was doing some browsing online, nothing explicit or illegal, mind you, and all of a sudden, my computer just starts lagging out of nowhere. My programs stopped responding, I had to end all my programs that were running just so I could open the Start menu to reboot. Upon rebooting, I opened my process list and found I was running 109 instances of qLL.exe and my CPU usage was completely maxed. I tried to terminate the process, but access was denied. I rebooted again, and this time I only had 2 instances of qLL.exe running, so I ran an Ad-Aware, MS Spyware Beta, and Spybot scan, but none of the three picked it up at all, though I did manage to get rid of a few other nasty threats. I've also been recieving a whole lot more pop-ups than normal, and my Earthlink pop-up blocker doesn't block a single one. I don't have a current subscription to Norton or any other major Anti-Virus program, and a Google search turns up only one result that doesn't even work. Can someone give me a hand?
