howdy,
I am using the export as pdf option under utilities in quarkxpress 4 on mac os 9.1. It creates the ps but when it goes into distiller I get the following error log:

%%[ Error: limitcheck; OffendingCommand: string ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks,
computerpain

I found out the error is being caused by an eps I created with photoshop 7. It is a EPS with a clipping path. Can anyone tell me why this error might occur with my photoshop eps that is imported to quarkxpress then exported in pdf form?

Thanks,
computerpain :D

I am having a similar problem when I try to pdf documents in Quark 4, I get this error

%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
%%[ Error: limitcheck; OffendingCommand: string ]%%
Stack:134068/ct2
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

I have determined that this problem arises when the documents contain wmf or dxf images, however when my co-workers pdf the same documents, they have no problem. Occasionally I have similar problems with pagemaker. I have re-installed these 3 programs several times with no resolution.

Does anybody have a clue how this can be fixed?
I am starting to believe that I was a computer virus in my past life.

Looks like this problem occurs with various images. It happened to me using eps images. I never really fixed it... just changed what image types I was dealing with to get it to work. Good luck.
