I’m running Excel 98 with a Mac G3 computer and I’d like to be able to use a bonafide query file to make queries.

Can you please tell me what the "File type" and "Creator type" are for a standard Macintosh query file?

Ouch. Not positively sure what you're talking about, but it sounds like Mac's idea of an ODBC connection?

To my knowledge (or lack of), the file type would be Excel (*.xls) and the Creator type would be MS Query?? Do you have options there from which to choose?

Found on Google a *suggestion* that the file type should be

    "DBIV"

, as in like dBaseIV perhaps.

What I'm looking for is the "file type" and "creator type" of, for example, a Page Maker file.

    Thanks
