So I want to buy the following item from eBay.
It says that the max size it supports is 300GB.
    My hard-drive is 320GB

    Will:
    a) the external hard-drive CASE recognize the HDD as 300GB and function normally?
    or-
    b) the external hard-drive CASE not recognise the HDD at all due to it being too big.

    Thanks for your speedy help!

A 320GB hard drive actually works out to be about 298GB. I believe the only way to know if the drive will work is to try it.

You shouldn't have any problem. Even if your board did not support drives that large, it would still work because it is a USB device and not directly connected to the board.
