i'm starting to work in a small company that uses php as its default web developing language , and have another chance to go to another company with asp.net as its default developing language ,,,

my knowledge with asp.net is the same with php ,,, just starting around :p

my question is what to choose to start my career with ? php or asp.net company ?

I'm throwing my support (big deal, I know, lol) with the salary answer. If your knowledge level of both is the same, then throw the languages out the window and concentrate on the companies and the jobs themselves.

Essentially all programming languages are the same. If you know one, it doesn't take very long to adapt to another.

However in my experience there has been much more demand for PHP these days than ASP. So I would stick with PHP.

PHP - I personally think its a better language, your supporting the open source movement / language. And getting away from using Microsoft. Both they do essentially the same thing.
