I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with 2x 2Rx16 512mb ram chips running Vista. This is obviously not enough RAM, so I would like to buy new RAM chips, I'd like to get 2x 1GB ram chips, but I want to make sure I get ones that are compatible with my computer. Can anyone suggest which ones to get, possibly with links to them? Thanks.

I would echo Crucial.com as well, and go ahead and do the System Scan.

Post the results back here and we can help you figure out what's what.

I didn't want to go through the whole, "It's not really my computer" thing, but it looks like I may need to, heh.

I am trying to help a friend with their computer. My knowledge is more software based. I will get my friend to do the scan and email me the results. Once I get them, I'll post it here.

Also knowing the exact make and model of the computer would be helpful.

HP Pavilion Entertainment PC is the only information I could find on the machine. There's nothing else. I may try to get it back to do a little more work on it.

Alright, well once the scan is available and I get the make and model, that will tell me what RAM is compatible, how much it can hold, etc.

I talked to my friend, and I'll get the computer back for tonight. I'll post the scan results from crucial.com
