When I go to my site, for example, "mysite.com", it shows me an old version of my site.
I can only view my current version of my site by going to mysite.com/wp/
As you can probably tell by the last part of the example URL, I am using WordPress

How can I make it to where users can see my site at "mysite.com" as oppose to "mysite.com/wp"?
I deleted the default.htm file in my directory because I read that WordPress didn't need that because it runs off of PHP, so no default.htm or index file is needed. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it, but considering what what the default.htm does...I'd say it was worth a mention....

Does anyone know what is causing this error or how to resolve it so that way users can view & access my site at the regular URL?

You need to copy a couple of files from /wp to your root directory and edit one of them and also change a setting in your Wordpress site. See https://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

You need to follow the instructions at Using a pre-existing subdirectory install EXACTLY and then it will do what you want.
