    Hello folks,
I have a simple question regarding some security programs and their abilities on 64 bit windows systems. The reason i ask about these applications are because as the move to windows 7 occured all of the main machines in my home have been moved to 64 bit versions. Now i have been running a usual arsenal of avast antivirus with comodo firewall and usually for antimalware scanners ive been using a combination of malwarebytes and super antispyware. I have not trouble with comodo as that has a true 64 bit download available for use however what concerns me are avast and super antispyware/malwarebytes. The reason i bring this up is that although i saw a claim on avast for 64 bit support when i look at the running processes in my system they are running in 32 bit mode. And i beleive the same is true for Super antispyware and malwarebytes anti malware. What i would like to know is if this affects my security with a 64 bit machine running. If someone could enlighten me on this it would be appreciated.

    ESET's Nod 4.2 antivirus+antispyware has a 64 bit version.

Hm thanks for the tip lunar however id like to keep my freebies and i think the new avast DOES support 64 which i will be upgrading too over the summer, right now im running the old 4.8 (dont think its a huge deal as it still is out grabbing definition updates) however i do plan on upgrading my laptop over the summer and i beleive the others i preside over already have the new edition. However, are super antispy and malwarebytes 64 bit compatible?

Update, i did some googling around the internet and discovered that even though avast processes run in 32bit mode, the drivers that support those processes are atcually 64 bit, furthermore, when the software installed onto the pc, it installed itself into the C:\program files folder instead of C:\program files(x86). So this leads to another question. If they are claiming the drivers are 64 bit that support the processes, does that mean that the antivirus is also protecting the 64 bit layer as well as the 32 bit? Or is this just some silly patchwork to keep their antivirus software working?
