As part of my still-unused DSL home networking package, I received a D-Link DFE-528TX ethernet card. After reading about folks having problems D-Link's drivers, I looked for other drivers, and discovered that the card isn't listed at driverguide.com or D-Link's site. I know cards aren't expensive -- Should I just buy a different one without trying to install it, or am I being overly cautious? Thanks much!

If you already have a card, I would say go ahead an try it. Its a very simple process to replace a network card - if you have any trouble, then you can go get a better one and just replace it.

For my DSL connection at home I use a 3Com card, but the rest of my network is on D-Link and I have never ahd a problem. My hub fan went out and they sent me a replacement the next day. Can't complain about that!!

Most people don't seem to have a problem with them except those using WinME.

Other than that, they seem to be as reliable as 3Com.
