Hello,

I am trying to extract and then move a file to my downloads or document folder.

When I click on extract or copy or move in 7zip the following shows :

2018-07-18 21_56_13-100% Copying....png

The above has happened on a few different files I have tried.

What does that mean? How do I fix it?

Thanks.

I use 7zip but I don't use Windows 10.
I simply right click and select what I want to do either extract or zip.
So when you right click and select extract you get the image you posted?

I forgot that I could use right click in order to extract files.

The error I posted happened when I clicked on the options that show on the top of 7zip not when I used right click.

Maybe this is suppose to happen when I right click and extract and save for example to my documents folder a new folder is made with the file that I extracted. Is that what is suppose to happen? Is there a way to have the extracted file not go into a newly made folder and show on my documents page? If so how do I do so?

Thanks.

Sometimes it's an advantage to open the files into a sub-folder, it keeps them all in the same place and easy to find.

If you open the zip file with 7zip and also open the folder you want to put it in, you can drag and drop the file(s) fairly easily without error.
