ok i changed my ISP and upgraded my speed to 1024kbps/256kbps for home, i managed to connect my phone line to my new router  but i have a question, can i replace the wire that connects the line splitter with the router, which was already packaged with the router, with another one that is 5m long? will that affect my speed? thx :)

If you mean replacing the Phone wire that goes between the DSL FIlter and the Computer, then yes you can. There should be no signal loss provided the phone cord is in good shape.
