Question for those with the release version of vista

    It seems some people got it early. I was just wondering if vista has the same product activation as xp? If so do all versions of vista have it?

    Pretty much the same as XP however you can actually install Vista without a Product Key however, it will start to shurdown functions afters 30 days.

    Yeah, what does it shut down? Do you mean its not bootable?

    This is how it works.

    1. You install Vista

    2. You have 30 days from when you install Vista to activate your computer with Microsoft's server... you will periodically get updates saying you need to register with Microsoft.... if you haven't already.

    3. If you haven't activated your copy of Vista within 30 days from when u installed it, or if you use a fake key....pretty much Vista will stop working.
