This is probably the noobiest question I've ever asked but... Here goes...

When I boot from an Ubuntu LiveCD it boots up and I have these options the first one being run/install ubuntu.
Is that the option I choose to "try out" ubuntu without it having to go on my hard drive.
I just wanna try it out without messing up my Windows XP setup.

Yep, that's the option. After it boots, there will be an "install" icon on the desktop you would double-click to do the actual installation. Don't double-click that icon and no installation will be done but you can still take your test drive and see what works and what doesn't. :)

Peace...

Sounds good. :) LiveCDs can be "fun" since you can take several distros for a spin without committing to any. Last night, I burned CDs I downloaded of Zenwalk 5 and OpenGEU 7.10 so I could check those out. :)

Peace...
