hopefully someone here can help. This happened one time before, and got to the point that I had to reformat. I was not sure the last time what I had done prior to the problem, but this time I do. I had just installed 2 Microsoft hot fixes, and when the computer said it had to reboot to complete the install, I rebooted. When it cam back up my display was locked into 4 bit color and 800 x 600 resolution with no adjustments available. I am running XP Pro P4 2.4 board not sure of the brand. Any help would be greatly appreciated. also it has happened 2 times this week already, the only thing keeping me up and running is system restore, I restore and the immediately create a new restore point.

    Again thanks

    Darren

Why not try re-installing your vid card drivers when this happens? Might just do it.
