Has anyone had any experience using the program SPYWARE BLASTER, which, supposedly when installed will prevent a lot of spyware from making its way onto your computer.

If I got this right, now that I have installed SPYWARE BLASTER does that mean that when I scan with SPYBOT or ADAWARE I will find far less spyware on my system?

Just curious :)

Thanks in advance

Yes.....Spyware Blaster will indeed reduce the malware your Spybot and Ad-Aware programs find, but not all. I"ve used it for many months and think it does a good job. But don't get rid of the other two. BTW, you need to update Spyware Blaster about once every week or two.. :)

I agree with BillC. SpywareBlaster does a great job and, since I've had it, AA and Spybot have hardly found anything on my comp.

Don't forget to donate if you can afford to. I did and installed MRU Blaster as well so I got good value for my money!. I have a commercial cleanup program but use MRU Blaster as a follow up.

I also run SpywareGuard and have the ie-spyad registry file installed in my restricted zones ...

Ad-Aware will still find things, but the volume is greatly reduced. Part of this depends upon what kind of Internet surfing you do ... :D

Spyware Blaster is excellent because of the fact that it blocks spycrud without using system resources. In addition use the immunize feature in spybot search and destroy.

Just wondering..... what can SPYWARE GUARD do that either SPYWARE BLASTER or the IMMUNIZATION feature of SPYBOT can't?

Thanks :)

As I understand it, Spyware Blaster prevents the installation of spyware ActiveX controls from a website. On the otherhand, Spyware Guard scans files in real time before you open them and prevents execution if spyware is detected. The thought is that spyware can get into your computer by methods other than visiting webpages. Freeware is often infested with spyware. Filesharing or even normal programs from a dubious source.

Anyway, that's my view.

Spyware Guard also includes browser hijack prevention ... a more comprehensive version of Browser Hijack Blaster.
