I purchased a P4PE asus board first , then i got a radeon 9700 pro and wanted 8x agp capability so i decided to sell my p4pe and get a p4s8x. i had problems from day one.

To provide you with a simple answer to your question... do not put them together as theyt are incompatible! poor performance. it is the SIS chipset that lets it down. i sold my p4s8x to a mate and went out and got a Gigabyte 8INXP (read a review on it www.motherboards.org) it has solved all my problems it has an intel chipset. my old p4pe outperformed the p4s8x. . .

My saga went on for months! i would not accept the fact that they are incompatible but im afraid its true!

My Advice... get a Gigabyte 8INXP or something with an intel chipset! (intel chipsets are without question far superior to any rivals)

Good luck...

Keep me posted ;)
