I was just after a quick bit of info...

I recently purchased a couple of 1gb sticks of PC3200 RAM, which looked like this in the sale picture:

What I received appeared like this...same sticker details, smaller chips.

I've just had some dramas with it causing XP to hang on startup and before I chase up Gigabyte to see if it is compatible, I figured someone here might just be able to confirm that the RAM with smaller chips is actually the same.

    Thanks in advance.

Physical chip size shouldn't matter. Density, speed, latency, single vs double sided, ECC, pairty and the such do.

Is this RAM dual channel or Single Channel?

If it is double sided it most likely is low density ram
