    Hi everyone,

Can someone please, please help me to figure out what RAM I need to buy for my laptop?
I have a Sony VAIO (Model No. PCG-5G1M) and it has two memory slots, currently with 1GB in each one. I have run SiSoftware Sandra and it gave the below information about RAM.

Am I right I thinking I need to purchase 2 x 2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300U?? It’s so confusing, and I don’t want to end up ordering the wrong thing! Do I need to specify any other details in my order, like the speed (MHz)?

    System Memory Controller
    Location : Mainboard
    Error Correction Capability : None
Number of Memory Slots : 2
    Bank 0 - SODIMM1 : SO-DIMM DDR2 1GB/64
    Bank 1 - SODIMM2 : SO-DIMM DDR2 1GB/64

    Logical/Chipset Memory Banks
    Bank 0 : 512MB DDR2 SO-DIMM 5-5-5-15 3-20-5-3 1T
    Bank 1 : 512MB DDR2 SO-DIMM 5-5-5-15 3-20-5-3 1T

If you go to either "Kingston" or "crucial", and run a scan this will tell you exactly what ram you need and how much your system will take.

PC2-5300U describes the Mhz too, like PC2-6400 means 800Mhz DDR2
