I just built a computer out of some old parts for my kids. When I turn on the computer, it goes to the basic screen where it runs down the type of CPU, memory check, etc. This one detects the CPU then freeezes. Nothing else comes up. Is this due to a bad stick of RAM? Nothing works, I can't enter the BIOS or anything. I had two sticks of RAM in there(both PC100) and I swapped them out, only used one at a time, and nothing changed. Any ideas? I've built several computers and I've never encountered this problem before.

Try clearing the CMOS with ether the jumpper or removing the battery.
