Maybe I just missed it, but could you post the make and model of your mobo.

I was thinking the same thing as raybro. You failed to post the motherboard description, so we don't really know how much RAM it supports and what type RAM module it uses.

You also failed to mention if those 4 modules are the same speed.

Do a scan at the CRUCIAL site, as frankjohn suggested.

Good question by frankjohn. The crucial site indicates you must install in matched pairs.

BTW... If you are considering maxing out your RAM... Although the mobo can hold 8GB, your OS (assuming it's 32bit) will only recognize 3.7 GB.

Not sure if this is solved or not as I'm not a tech but I've found that there are pc repair shops that offer free estimates which can be found in your local phonebook. They will hook the pc up to their diagnostic tool and let you what's up at no cost to you. They do this to generate business so do support them or refer them.

Are the slots color coded? Like two blue and two white. If so, the matched pairs should be installed in slots of the same color. This is sometimes ever other slot. For instance slots 1 and 3 match and 2 and 4 match. It would still be helpful if you would post your mbo make and model.

From what the CRUCIAL scan results show

Guaranteed-compatible memory upgrades for your M2N Motherboard .

We were not able to determine the manufacturer and/or model of your PC, but we were able to complete our scan with information from your motherboard.

it's my guess it's an ASUS M2N model motherboard.

It would be nice to confirm that and what the full model number is.
