I'm running a HP Pavilion 700MHz with 256RAM using WinME. I have a program that monitors how much RAM is available, and after I boot up it reads that I only have about 150M RAM remaining. I've been through the 'startup' list on 'msconfig' and eliminated everything that wasn't needed with the bootup. Any thoughts on what might be draining my RAM? I don't have very many programs on the 'startup' of 'msconfig' and can list them if someone thinks that might help, but I can see no way that the programs I have booting up can use over 100M of RAM.

Thanks,
JTN

Most likely Windows is using and managing your ram. This is a good thing - you wouldn't want to have ram which was not being used would you ? What you really need to monitor is your paging activity - with 256mb of ram you should not have much paging activity unless you run a lot of little apps or a few huge ones. If you do have a lot of paging for no apparent reason, then, yes, something is wrong.
