    I have 256MB DDR RAM in one of my slots, will it work if i out 512MB DDR RAM in the other slot? or do they have to be the same size?

    here are some specs:

    Board: Intel Corporation D845GVSR AAC45431-104
    Serial Number: AZSR33600855
    Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
    BIOS: Intel Corp. SR84511A.15A.0014.P02.0307230940 07/23/2003

    2.40 gigahertz Intel Celeron
    8 kilobyte primary memory cache
    128 kilobyte secondary memory cache

    and as i said before i have 256MB RAM installed. I have a gateway 310S.

    i dont know why you would have any type of problems, i had at one time 256 and a 512 at the same time. most motherboards shouldnt reject it, but to be safe you should probably check.
